Fútbol Club Zwervers proudly holds the title of the largest football club in Capelle aan den IJssel. As of November 1, 2022, the club had 800 active players and a total membership count of approximately 1,040, including donors and non-playing members. This “schwung” and “drive,” as the club describes it, are creating an energetic and optimistic atmosphere that serves as a strong foundation for the future.

A Glance Back at the Club’s Legacy

Fútbol Club Zwervers has a rich history dating back to its founding on February 21, 1930. The idea for the club began in December 1929, when a group of friends, Bertus Oosterom, Jan Heuvelman, Willem Multem, Teunis Noorlander, and Nic van Es, decided to establish a football club after discussing it over drinks at Café Noorlander. Their shared enthusiasm led to the creation of the Capelsche Voetbalvereniging Zwervers, which quickly became a reality just three months later.

A Predecessor: D.V.S.

Before Fútbol Club Zwervers, there was D.V.S. (Door Vriendschap Sterk), founded on July 21, 1922. In early 1923, D.V.S. changed its name to VV Zwervers but ceased operations in 1926. Four years later, the legacy was revived with the birth of CVV Zwervers.
